Tackle Kids Cancer

Tackle Kids Cancer is an incredible initiative that began at the Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. Tackle Kids Cancer spreads awareness for pediatric cancer patients by using raised funds to support dedicated clinicians and researchers, who are making strides in advancing research as well as providing children access to the highest level of care.

Love Your Melon was proud to give $5,000 to Tackle Kids Cancer which directly supported the Through Our Eyes photography program. Patients were given a camera and were taught how to take photos of their treatments, experiences, and interactions in the hospital environment by a professional photographer. Kids battling cancer had the opportunity to document their journey over a series of weeks. All photos taken by participants in this program were assembled and displayed in an exhibit in the lobby of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital.
