Ontario Parents Advocating for Children with Cancer

Ontario Parents Advocating for Children with Cancer (OPACC) is a registered charity whose overall goal, since establishment in 1995, has been to be the parent voice and expert resource for families with children battling cancer across the Province of Ontario.

Love Your Melon is proud to have given $10,000 to OPACC at the end of 2018 to support OPACC’s in-hospital parent support kits. These kits provided families of newly diagnosed children with specialized resources such as childhood cancer learning materials and health record binders to keep their child’s records organized, as well as items to make their hospital stay more comfortable including personal care items, detergent for doing their laundry at the hospital, and gift cards that allowed them to purchase groceries, gas, coffee, and meals throughout their stay.
